The Leadership Council adopts the decision of the governor of Shabwa to dismiss “Laakab”

On Monday, the Presidential Leadership Council approved the decision of the governor of Shabwa, head of the security committee, Awad bin Al-Wazir Al-Awlaki, regarding the dismissal of the commander of the Special Security Forces, Abed Rabbo Laakab, who is loyal to the Muslim Brotherhood. 

This came during an emergency meeting held by the council to discuss the security developments in Shabwa governorate.  And the necessary measures for the urgent normalization of the situation, the restoration of public tranquility in the city of Ataq and the rest of the governorate’s directorates, and the accountability of those responsible for the events.

After listening to the reports of the competent authorities and extensive discussion of the situation in the city of Ataq, the council decided the following:

 Article (1) Dismissal of:

1- Commander of the Ataq axis, commander of the 30th Brigade, Brigadier Uzair Nasser Al-Ateeqi.

2- Director General of Shabwa Governorate Police, Brigadier Awad Masoud Al-Dahboul.

3- Commander of the Special Security Forces Branch, Brigadier General / Abd Rabbo Muhammad Laakab.

4- Commander of the Second Brigade Defense of Shabwa Colonel / Wajdi Baoum Al-Khelaifi.

 Article (2) This decision shall be implemented as soon as it is announced.

The governor of Shabwa, head of the security committee, Awad bin al-Wazir, had issued a decision to dismiss the commander of the Special Security Forces, Abd Rabbo Laakab, on the grounds of causing armed clashes, which took place last month in the city of Ataq, the provincial capital, which resulted in deaths and injuries.
