Aden, NewsYemen:

The Emirati newspaper, Al-Bayan, said that the Houthi militia's obstruction of the progress of peace negotiations in Yemen increases the number of those affected by its scourge and exacerbates the humanitarian and living conditions of Yemenis.

The newspaper said, in an editorial, that it is time for peace to return to Yemen, with the Houthis engaging with international and regional initiatives to end the war and sit at the negotiating table in order to uphold the interests of the people and the country.

It added that establishing peace in Yemen requires the different parties to sit at the negotiating table, without impossible conditions for the Houthis, which will provide time and opportunity to start serious discussions about economic and security tracks, as extending and consolidating the armistice would put this country on the path towards a permanent political settlement.

It stressed the necessity of drawing lessons and burying any illusions regarding the division of Yemen, by adhering to the republican national constants, unity and democracy, ending the coup, implementing the Gulf initiative, and not allowing any messer to threaten the security and stability of Yemen, in order for Yemen to reach safety.

Al-Bayan stated that the peace map exists, and practical proposals have been agreed upon to initiate it and build confidence, and what is missing is the Houthis' commitment to making concessions and giving priority to the national interest, as this will contribute to addressing points of contention in a just political path in order to make lasting peace that  It lays the foundations for building the future of the new Yemen, building a state with strong national institutions, correcting imbalances, and achieving peace, security and stability for the people, away from bidding.

The newspaper concluded by saying that the cost of peace is much less than the cost of war, stressing the need for everyone to agree to spare the blood of the innocent, and to start rebuilding Yemen, as the Yemeni people have the right to live in stability, security and prosperity.
