Aden, NewsYemen:

On Wednesday evening, the United Nations envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, called on the parties to the conflict to "make concessions" to end the conflict in the country.

Grundberg said, in a statement: "(Wednesday) the 100th flight took off from Sana'a since the truce (2) April (2022) succeeded in opening the airport after nearly six years of closure."

He stated that "more than 50,000 passengers benefited from these flights through Sana'a International Airport," which is under the control of the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen.

Grundberg made it clear that Wednesday's flight is the 49th since the end of the armistice on October 2. This is a reminder of the importance of making concessions and their positive impact on the lives of civilians.

The international envoy called on the parties to the conflict to "build on this to make progress towards more measures to mitigate the impact of the conflict on Yemenis, a cease-fire across Yemen and an inclusive political process to end the conflict."
