Al-Mokha, NewsYemen, Samir Al-Sanaani:

The coastal city of Mocha on the Red Sea is witnessing an unprecedented developmental movement led by the Political Bureau of the National Resistance headed by Brigadier General Tariq Muhammad Abdullah Saleh, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and commander of the National Resistance Forces, a movement that began to extend to include many districts of the governorates of Taiz and Al-Hodeidah.

In April of 2018, it was announced that the National Resistance Forces (Guardians of the Republic) would be established as a military and security force led by Brigadier General Tariq Saleh. Its establishment would be an extension of the December 2 uprising project announced by former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, head of the General People's Congress, in the heart of Sana'a against the Houthi militia.  The Iranian arm in Yemen, as a revolution aimed at restoring the republic, the state and its institutions that were seized and plundered by the Houthi militia, and as a result he paid his life and the lives of a number of his comrades, the first of which is the Secretary-General of the Conference, the martyr Aref Al-Zoka.

The establishment of the National Resistance Forces (Guardians of the Republic) did not last long.  Where it joined what was known as the Joint Resistance Forces, which included the Giants Brigades and the Tihama Resistance Forces, and entrusted them with the task of liberating the western coast from the control of the Houthi militia, which was achieved within a short time and at a record speed, as those forces were able to liberate the areas extending from the districts of: Dhu  Bab, Mawza’a, and Al-Wazi’iyah to Al-Mokha in Taiz, passing through some districts of Al-Hodeidah Governorate.  All the way to the city of Hodeidah and approaching the liberation of the port of Hodeidah, but the international interventions and the complicity of the then legitimate government led by former President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi by signing the Stockholm Agreement in Sweden thwarted the project to complete the liberation of the port and what remained of the city of Hodeidah and ensured the survival and control of the Houthi militia over it.

Although the Sweden agreement constituted a stab in the back for the project to liberate the entire western coast from the control of the Houthi militia, the National Resistance Forces (Republic Guards) took a different approach by starting to implement a military and security project aimed at preserving the liberated areas, especially the city of Mocha and its port, and starting to  Implementation of development and humanitarian plans parallel and complementary to the military liberation process, a plan whose implementation increased after the withdrawal of the joint forces from the areas they controlled in Hodeidah in accordance with the Sweden agreement in November 2021.

It can be said that the military project of the National Resistance Forces (Guards of the Republic) was based on the fact that they are forces whose goal is to resist the Houthi militias that are subordinate to Iran and its regime, which was confirmed by its leader, Brigadier General Tariq Saleh on more than one occasion, that the goal of these forces is national, aimed at the Iranian Houthi project and has no  Aim or intentions other than that.

From battle to politics

Yemenis of all sects and segments unanimously agreed that the Sweden agreement signed by the legitimate government with the Houthi militia, which resulted in halting the completion of the battle to liberate Hodeidah and its port from Houthi control, was a treacherous stab in the back for the Joint Resistance Forces project in general and for the National Resistance Forces project (Republic Guards) in particular, being  He stopped the military approaches and plans that these forces were continuing to implement on the ground by striving to complete the liberation of the port of Hodeidah and the governorate directorates from militia control, leading to the completion of the liberation of the western coast that extends to the port of Midi on the coasts of Hajjah governorate along the Saudi border.

The Sweden agreement signed in December 2018 represented a process of frustration that could have contributed to the fragmentation and termination of the entire national resistance project (the guards of the republic). However, the leadership of the resistance realized that the agreement, despite its many negative aspects, was not the end of the battle, and therefore moved to a new project, which is the political project.  By announcing the Political Bureau of the National Resistance on March 25, 2021 AD from the city of Mocha, with the aim of this office being the political bearer of the project and directions of the national military resistance, in a way that preserves its goals in striving to resist the Persian-Iranian project implemented by the Houthi militia and to prevent the recurrence of any agreements similar to the Sweden agreement that harmed  With the liberation process, which was aimed at expelling Al-Houthi and his militias from the entire western coast.

The political project of the national resistance whose political bureau was headed by Brigadier General Tariq Salih became clear from the first day of its publication by presenting a national political vision that transcends all narrow factional interests and transcends the grudges and differences of the past and aims to gather all the national forces resisting the Iranian-backed Houthi project.  In addition to a military and security vision that seeks to defend Arab national security against plans to target it by the mullahs’ regime in Tehran and to assert that Yemen will remain a strategic depth for its brothers in the Gulf states and the Arab world, and a vision of international cooperation aimed at combating terrorism and extremism and contributing to protecting the security of international navigation at sea.  Al-Ahmar and the Bab al-Mandab Strait and confronting any agendas to target it, most notably the plans of the Houthi militia that seek to achieve the goals of Tehran and its regime in striking Arab national security on the one hand and the security of international navigation on the other hand by targeting stability in the Red Sea, the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the rest of the western coast, which it still controls from  Hodeidah to Midi in the north.

The political project of national resistance did not stop at its national and Arab vision only.  Rather, it extended to present a new model in the pursuit of popular satisfaction at the national level, which was embodied in the speedy opening of offices and branches of the Political Bureau for it in several governorates on the one hand, and on the other hand, its transcendence over the differences and grudges of the past and its extension of its hand to cooperate with various political leaders from different political currents, and this was evident  This is through the meetings and understandings of the leadership of the national resistance and its political office with their counterparts from other political forces, such as the Islah Party, the Socialist Party, the Nasserist Party, the Southern Transitional Council, and others.

National resistance and development is a renewed life project

In the framework of its endeavor to present a different project, the national resistance moved from the two phases of the liberation battle and the declaration of the Political Bureau to a new project, which is the development project, which it began to implement in the city of Mocha as a start, passing through the neighboring districts.  Whether in the governorate of Taiz or the governorate of Al-Hodeidah, which appeared through projects of support and humanitarian relief for the poor and the displaced, and projects to support those affected by war and those affected by natural disasters such as torrents.  Passing through the projects of paving and asphalting roads, and building the city of Sakina in Al-Mokha, up to the project of establishing and implementing Al-Mokha International Airport to be a new window to link Al-Mokha and Taiz Governorate and its vicinity with the outside world.

The development projects that it adopted, supported, and implemented, and the National Resistance Forces and its political bureau still embodied the reality of the different resistance project aimed at restoring normal life for the residents of these areas after the Houthi militias, with their war and crimes, destroyed all the requirements of life in them and turned these areas into areas full of rubble of destruction and war tragedies.  At the same time, it announced a new national project that came to present a different model that transcends the consequences and negatives of the past, and aims to unite the ranks of Yemenis, gather their diaspora, and direct their strength and power towards one enemy, which is the Houthi militia and its Persian project aimed at extending control over the Arab region and threatening its national security.
