As a continuation of the second day... an exchange of prisoners between Saudi Arabia and Sana'a

Today, Saturday, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) continued its flights for the second day in a row to transport more prisoners and detainees, in accordance with the agreement concluded between the Yemeni government and the Houthi militia, Iran's arm in Yemen, which provides for the release of 887 detainees from both sides, over a period of 3 days.

According to the committee's account on Twitter, the second day began with a flight from Abha International Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Sana'a Airport in Yemen, carrying 120 Houthi detainees on board.  At the same time, a plane took off from Sana'a airport to Riyadh Saudi airport, carrying 20 detainees from the coalition forces that support legitimacy.

The committee indicated that two ICRC planes arrived in Sana'a from Al-Mokha Airport, carrying 60 Houthi detainees.

The spokesman for the government delegation in the prisoners’ negotiations, a member of the negotiating delegation and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Rights, Majed Fadael, tweeted on his Twitter account, that the second phase of the operation will take place through the airports: Mocha-Sana’a, Abha-Sana’a, and Sanaa-Riyadh, and it will be through 6 flights.  by the International Committee of the Red Cross.

He pointed out that three flights will depart from Al-Mokha to Sana'a with a total of 100 Houthi detainees, and another from Sana'a to Riyadh, which will transport Afash Tariq and Brigadier General Muhammad Salih, the son and brother of the deputy of the Presidential Leadership Council Brigadier General Tariq Saleh, and finally two flights will take off from Abha Airport to Sana'a to transport a total of 250 Houthi detainees.  

The first phase of the prisoner exchange between the two sides began on Friday, when ICRC planes transported 318 prisoners to and from Sana'a and Aden.  Among those released are former Defense Minister Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, and the brother of former President Nasser Mansour Hadi, who are covered by UN Security Council Resolution 2216.
