During the last period, the Foundation has doubled its humanitarian and relief movements in several Yemeni governorates, the most recent of which is in Shabwa governorate, which received generous support in the health sector. Where the Foundation adopted a development initiative to revive the medical sector in the various regions of Shabwa through an initiative that includes the rehabilitation and purification of a number of main hospitals and providing them with the necessary health equipment and supplies in order to improve the level of services provided to patients.
These efforts were accompanied by the implementation of a package of development and service projects in the Socotra archipelago, which contributed significantly to the advancement of the archipelago, which was deprived of the most basic services over the past decades. The projects focused on re-normalizing life in several sectors, including health, electricity, education, hygiene, airport and port, security, sports, social care and other areas of life.

A few days ago, we celebrated the first anniversary of the death of the late President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who worked to strengthen the position of the UAE and its active role on the regional and international arenas. These initiatives paved a safe path for many residents who benefited from the implemented service and development projects, which came as an extension of the approach of the founding leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The most prominent initiatives of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan were evident in Socotra Governorate, which still bears witness to immortal exploits, starting with the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital, which was built in 2011, and which represents the main healing artery on the island. And leading to a number of service and development projects that breathed life into the lives of the people of the island and lifted a lot of suffering.
The Governor of Socotra, Raafat Al-Thaqil, confirmed that the gifts of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan cannot be counted or counted in haste. The goodness of the Sheikh Khalifa Foundation extended to all parts of the island for more than 12 years. He added: The Khalifa Humanitarian Foundation provided generous support in education, health, fisheries, electricity, water, sports, culture, hygiene and security. Unlimited health support
In mid-May 2023, Al-Dafia Hospital in Bayhan District, Shabwa Governorate, received new support, including a modern CT scan machine, provided by the Sheikh Khalifa Foundation, as one of the most essential medical equipment needed by this health facility for early detection and accurate diagnosis of diseases. It relieves patients of the burden of traveling outside the directorate to conduct diagnostic medical examinations.
The support comes as part of a relief initiative launched by the Foundation to rehabilitate and modernize about 16 hospitals in two phases, as part of the brotherly efforts aimed at reviving the collapsed health sector due to the crisis the country is going through.
This initiative included supporting the health system, equipping and rehabilitating the hospitals in Shabwa Governorate, by restoring and equipping them with health supplies, and providing them with medical staff and specialties to ensure their workflow and provide health care to citizens.
The relief work carried out by the UAE focused largely on the service sectors that affect the daily lives of citizens, which made the people of the governorates that benefited from these projects bear the highest verses of thanks and appreciation to the UAE and the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed for these benevolent humanitarian efforts.

Since its construction in 2011, the hospital has received generous and substantial support from the Khalifa Foundation, which provided the only health facility with modern medical equipment and supplies, not to mention the modernization of medical services and the opening of new departments, as well as the recruitment of doctors, missions, consultants and specialists.
The Governor of Socotra, Raafat Al-Thaqali, enumerated the late Atta through the support of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works, including electricity that was delivered to remote and remote areas that have been deprived of this service for decades. Today, the island, which is deprived of electricity, enjoys service and an uninterrupted current for 24 hours, after the UAE provided 4 stations in the various directorates of the governorate, distributed generators to remote villages, and launched a distribution network for more than 30 sites. In addition to the establishment of two solar power plants in "Hadibu" and "Qalansiyah".
In the water sector, he witnessed projects to dig groundwater wells and end the drought in many villages, not to mention projects to deliver water to areas that suffer from a lack of clean water sources. It included installing water tank sterilization stations, building new tanks with a capacity of 50,000 liters, supplying wells with generators, in addition to digging 48 artesian wells and installing pumps to extract water using solar energy.
In education, dozens of schools have been built and renovated, teachers have been provided and school curricula have been printed, as well as scholarships for Socotra students to study various majors in foreign universities, in an initiative aimed at advancing the educational generations of Socotra.

According to Al-Thaqali, the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation has built more than 200 homes (housing units) within the sustainable projects and after the hurricanes that hit the island. Likewise, the fish sector received qualitative support from the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation, benefiting more than 27 fishermen's associations and the Fish Cooperative Union, as well as developing a fish market with an area of 4 thousand square meters and a fish canning factory that accommodates 500 tons per month.
Support for the fish sector contributed to the employment of 500 people from the island, and the provision of 30 fishing boats, 10 refrigerators for preserving fish in the fishermen's berths, and 13 buffers for transporting fish.
