Crime is under way..  Diplomatic official is preparing to sell Yemen's embassy land, building, in Moscow

Diplomatic sources reported that a senior official at the Foreign Ministry of the Legitimate government has begun practical arrangements to sell a property of the Yemeni embassy in Russia.

The source said that the moves carried out by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Financial and Administrative affairs Osan Oud and the Yemeni Ambassador to Russia Ahmed Salem al-Wuhaishi to sell the embassy building and its yard in Moscow.

An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told NewsYemen that the measures were taken with utmost secrecy between the Undersecretary of the Ministry, the Embassy and a Russian side for this purpose, pointing out that if the sale was done, it would be the biggest corruption and crime that infringe the assets of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since its establishment.

He pointed out that the land was purchased by the Yemen's former ambassador in Moscow Dr. Abdo Ali Abdulrahman in 2002 for $ 1 million, adding that the ministry received bids to sell the land by the Russian businessmen for $ 30 million, after only three years of purchasing it.

The source said to NewsYemen that the amount due in the current reached more than half a billion dollars, especially after 17 years of purchasing the property. 

The Embassy's land located nearby the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow, only about 300 meters away, noting that located in one of the most important neighborhoods and adjacent the headquarter of the embassies of the United States and Britain.
