$ 5.59 billion UAE aid to Yemen from 2015

Between 2015 and June 2019, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) provided assistance to Yemen amounting to AED 20.57 billion (US $ 5.59 billion).

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates made clear that 66% of the aid allocated for development projects and 34% for humanitarian assistance.

The overall program support accounted for 53 percent of the UAE's assistance to Yemen, equivalent to 10 billion and 800 thousand dirhams ($ 2.95 billion).

 While emergency and humanitarian food aid accounted for 15 percent of the total amount of aid, equivalent to AED 3 billion and 128,000 dirhams.

The health sector accounted for 11% of total UAE assistance in Yemen with over AED 2 billion (US $ 0.59 billion), while the energy sector accounted for 9% over AED 1.5 billion (US $ 0.48 billion.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, AED 2.051 billion ($ 557.6 million) was the amount of UAE assistance to al-Hodeida from June 2018 to June 2019.
