GPC leader in Shar'ab al-Salam north of Taiz assassinated

Unknown gunmen assassinated a leader of the General People's Congress (GPC) party Tuesday evening in Shar'ab al-Salam district north of Taiz province, central Yemen.
A security source told NewsYemen that unknown gunmen assassinated Sheikh Ahmed Saif al-Sha'abi, and his son was seriously injured in Bani Sha'ab area in Shar'ab al-Salam district in Taiz province.
Sheikh Ahmed Saif Ahmed was a leader at the National Front in the 1990s and a leader at the Yemeni Socialist Party. He joined the General People's Congress after the summer war in 1994. He was known throughout his life by courage, sincerity and self-respect.
