Sana'a, NewsYemen, exclusive:

The prominent Houthi leaders in the Houthi militia - Iran's arm in Yemen, are still promoting the "general amnesty and return to the homeland", in order to try to persuade many of the fighters opposed to them to leave the fighting and return to their families safely in the unliberated areas.

The young man, Salem Muhammad Hussein Al-Salmi, is a new victim of the Houthi general amnesty trap. After he was persuaded and given all the guarantees to return home in the Bani Dabyan district on the outskirts of Sana'a, he was arrested, kidnapped, and transferred to a militia prison in Sana'a and considered a prisoner of war.

According to Salem Al-Salmi's family, their son was among those who believed the false promises promoted by the Houthi militia, which calls on all fighters opposed to it to return to their homes safely and benefit from what it calls "the master's pardon."

The family indicated, in statements to it, that "Salem" decided to leave the fronts and return home after we received promises that he would be safe after his return and would live in peace with his family members.

All papers and guarantees have been prepared with the Houthi authorities.  However, we were surprised when one of the Houthi posts at the entrance to Sana'a kidnapped him and took him to prison and considered him a prisoner of war.

For years, the Houthi militia has been promoting the "general amnesty" initiative, or as they also call it "the master's pardon", in order to neutralize as many fighters loyal to the Yemeni government as possible from the areas under their control, as the Houthi claims include allowing anti-government fighters to return safely to their homes and live in peace, in the event that it was decided to leave the fight against them.  However, many of those who believed these lies soon discovered that they had fallen into the Houthi trap, but it was too late.

According to the family of "Salem Al-Salmi", her son fell into the Houthi trap, and they do not know anything about him after he was kidnapped by the Houthi militants and transferred to a prison they supervise in Sana'a.  Rather, the Houthi militia refused to allow the young man's family to check on his health and make sure of his safety and place of detention.

Official documents circulated, for days, revealed the truth about the arbitrary detention of the young man, Al-Salmi, at the hands of the Houthi militia, during his return to his family, and how his case turned from a return to the homeland to a "prisoner of war" case.

A number of sheikhs and notables of Bani Dhabyan in Sana'a declared their rejection and denunciation of the militia's lies and deceit against the young man "Salem Al-Salmi", and demanded his speedy release, and sent a letter to the so-called Jalal Al-Ruwaishan, appointed as Deputy Prime Minister for Security and Defense Affairs in the Houthi government, asking him to releasing the young man, Salem, who is being held in the third district of Jahana, and that he is not a prisoner of war as it is being promoted and that he was not captured on the front lines.

The document indicated that Al-Salmi had obtained a guarantee from the notables and sheikhs of Bani Dhabyan, who met the Houthi militia's requirements in return for Al-Salmi's return, but the group refuses to release him and considers him a prisoner.

What Al-Salmi was subjected to reveals the extent of the treachery that the Houthi militia entrusted to everyone who tries to believe what Iran's arm is promoting under the cover of an amnesty and return to the bosom of the homeland.

The hatred and treachery harbored by the Houthis will affect everyone who believes in these calls, regardless of the guarantees provided by the families and relatives of those wishing to return to the areas under the control of the militias.

The continuous deception and spreading of lies promoted by the Houthis under the initiative of amnesty for their opponents aims to lure their opponents into the unliberated areas, before they are arrested and detained, sent to prisons and conceal all their news.

Human rights sources in Sana'a made it clear that the Houthi trap and the amnesty trick are still continuing and are not surprising, stressing that all those who were announced to have been granted amnesty and returned to the homeland have disappeared, and their families have submitted reports of their suspicious arrest and disappearance.

The sources indicated that more than 1,730 reports of members covered by the Houthi amnesty have disappeared and their families do not know anything about them, noting that security information confirmed that some of them are being held by the Houthi militia after they refused to join and participate in their ranks.

The sources confirmed that the leader of the Houthis came out in mid-2018 with what he called a comprehensive amnesty, in the year 2021 he announced what he called the great amnesty campaign, explaining that everyone knows that the Houthi does not fulfill a single promise, and that the comprehensive amnesty and the great amnesty are nothing but traps, deceit and lies to trap the largest number of opponents  for them.
